Our story
Elite City Lofts was founded in 2016 by a small group of architects, interior designers and property professionals who shared a common frustration: the luxury rental market in Scotland lacked a truly premium, service-driven offering. Too many so-called luxury apartments delivered beautiful surfaces but fell short on the details that matter — thoughtful layouts, responsive management and a genuine sense of community.
We set out to change that. Starting with a single converted warehouse in the heart of the city, we created a living concept that blended architectural ambition with hospitality-grade service. The response was overwhelming. Within two years, we expanded to three buildings and welcomed over 200 residents who valued the same things we did: quality, discretion and a home that truly felt like a sanctuary.
Today, our portfolio spans six landmark buildings across Scotland's most desirable postcodes. Every property is designed in-house, managed by our own team and maintained to standards that would satisfy the most discerning eye. We remain privately owned, fiercely independent and utterly committed to the belief that where you live shapes how you live.

We are committed to reducing our environmental footprint without compromising on luxury. Our buildings incorporate energy-efficient glazing, heat recovery ventilation, LED lighting throughout and EV charging infrastructure. We source materials responsibly, favouring FSC-certified timber, recycled metals and low-VOC paints. Our goal is net-zero carbon across all operations by 2030.

Catherine Harlow
Managing director — Catherine co-founded Elite City Lofts after 15 years leading luxury hospitality brands. She oversees strategy, brand development and client relations, ensuring every resident feels personally valued.
James Rutherford
Head of design — James is a RIBA-chartered architect whose portfolio includes award-winning residential projects across the UK. He leads our in-house design studio, translating client aspirations into living spaces of extraordinary beauty.
Fiona Mackenzie
Head of operations — Fiona manages day-to-day building operations, concierge services and resident experience programmes. Her background in five-star hotel management ensures our service standards remain consistently exceptional.
